Indian Navy commissioned its 4th Scorpene class submarine into its inventory at naval dockyard in Mumbai. Naval Chief, Admiral Karambir Singh was also present in the induction ceremony and inspected the submarine. The submarine was built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd in collaboration with M/s Naval Group of France.
Power Minister R.K. Singh gave the assurance in response to a question in Lok Sabha during Question Hour.

Naval chief Admiral R Hari Kumar took the salute from the new recruits in the Passing Out Parade, which was held post-sunset, a first of its kind in the Indian armed forces. Traditionally, Passing Out Parades are held in the morning.
The President also expressed her satisfaction over the balanced proportion of male and female students at Visva Bharati University.
