In what could bring cheers among the air travellers, direct flight to Guwahati will operate from Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar from October 29, 2023. IndiGo airlines will operate the flight service from Bhubaneswar to Guwahati in Assam on a daily basis. As a result of the direct flight connectivity, the travelers can reach Guwahati from Bhubaneswar in one and a half hours. The first flight will take off from Bhubaneswar airport at 1 25 pm and land at Guwahati airport at 2 55 pm. Similarly, the flight will take off from Guwahati airport at 3 50 pm and reach Bhubaneswar at 5 20 pm.Bhubaneswar International Airport Director, Prasanna Pradhan informed that there are plans to introduce flight services to Jammu, Chandigarh and Surat in the coming days.

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a batch of petitions seeking mandatory cross-verification of the votes cast in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) with Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips.
