A youth was arrested for allegedly impersonating the Inspector-In-Charge of Khallikote Police Station and terrorizing a person over a phone call on Monday (Nov 22).
The arrested youth identified as Sunil Kumar Gouda is a resident of Chikili village in Ganjam district.
As per reports, Gouda called up a person of Bharasa village and allegedly threatened him over some issue. Over the phone call, the accused tried to intimidate the person while posing as Khallikote IIC and allegedly threatened him with dire consequences.
However, a voice recording of the telephonic conversation went viral which led the real IIC of Khallikote Jagannath Mallick to take note and launch an investigation into the case. The accused has been nabbed and forwarded to the court.
