These birds pecking at their food are not in any zoo or a sanctuary. This is the home of Jayant Tandulkar and he has made his home a perfect abode for these birds.

This big-hearted bird lover is a resident of Nagpur in Maharashtra and he has created this mini bird sanctuary at his home. This mini-bird sanctuary measures around 1200 square feet. He has been feeding hundreds of birds every day for the past 15 years.

Jayant, who works as a senior accountant, wakes up at 6 AM to finish his work and prepares feed for these birds. In fact, he has also designed feeding bowls for his regular guests. The feeding containers made of bamboo and coconut shells are set at specific heights on different trees for the convenience of various birds.

According to Jayant, more than 40 species of birds are regular visitors to his green island in the concrete jungle of Nagpur city.
