Viral Video: Father Carries Sick Adult Daughter On Shoulders To Avail Treatment

These visuals from Bolangir have recently gone viral on social media. Here, a man can be seen carrying his adult daughter on shoulders for treatment on Monday morning (Nov 22). These visuals were captured on the streets at Belapada area of the district.

As per sources, the man identified as Dhubal Chhatria is a resident of Nehenabanda village at Patnagarh area in Bolangir district. Dhubal’s 18-year-old daughter is reportedly suffering from an unknown disease.

Even after moving from pillar to post with a hope to see her recuperate quickly, Dhubal and his wife had been unable to relieve their daughter of her pain. With no alternative left, Dhubal sold off all his belongings and used all the money for his daughter’s treatment.

On Monday, with no money left to even afford a vehicle, Dhubal was forced to carry his adult daughter in his arms. These visuals were however captured by a passerby and uploaded online, bringing Dhubal’s plight to the fore.

After the images surfaced, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) has ordered a probe into the matter.
