The steep rise in vegetable prices in the state has pinched a hole in the pocket of the consumers. As per reports, since the onset of the holy 'Kartik' month, the prices of vegetables have increased significantly, as people opt for more vegetables compared to non-vegetarian food items during this period.

The sky-rocketing price rise of the staple vegetables is also being credited to the rise in petrol prices across the country, which has increased the transportation cost.
