In a case of gross medical negligence, medication of two patients got interchanged at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir on Monday (Nov 1). As per reports, the two patients were admitted to the medicine ward on beds 48 and 49 in the hospital for kidney ailment and stomach ache respectively.

In a case of gross medical negligence, medication of two patients got interchanged at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir on Monday (Nov 1). As per reports, the two patients were admitted to the medicine ward on beds 48 and 49 in the hospital for kidney ailment and stomach ache respectively.

However, the nurse allegedly interchanged the saline and medication while administering it to the patients. There were allegations that despite being informed about the same, the nurse failed to remove the saline from the patient and the patient’s relatives had to remove the same.

Meanwhile, the hospital authorities reassured that the medications did not cause any side-effects in the patients.
