In the latest development in the death of Manish Anurag Das, police sources have revealed some critical details. These details have surfaced following interrogation of the two friends of Manish, who have surrendered before police.
According to Police sources, no clear evidence has been found to show death after drowning in the pond, where the body of Manish was found. Sources informed that the lady who was seen in the CCTV footages walking ahead of Manish has been identified as the girlfriend of one of the victim’s friends.
It has also been learnt that Manish had an altercation with friends after coming out of a bar over bill payment and some other matter. The two friends of the victim who surrendered have reportedly stated that they soon left after the altercation broke out and stayed at a separate hotel at Unit-4 in Bhubaneswar.
Earlier on Thursday, the Commissionerate police took the custody of two accused who had surrendered in Kandhamal in connection with this case. On Sunday (October 10) body of Manish, who is the son of senior journalist Nabin Das, was recovered from a pond on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
He had reportedly gone missing from a location within Infocity Police Limits on Saturday (October 9).
