In a shocking incident, a woman was arrested by Saheed Nagar Police on Wednesday (Sept 22) for allegedly honey-trapping a man and later robbing his house.
As per sources, on August 22, the victim, identified as a resident of Puri, had registered a case against the woman alleging her of robbing him on August 15 this year.
After launching a probe, the police arrested the accused woman from Puri's Baliapanda area where has been living. Police also seized gold, cash and other valuables worth over Rs 5 lakh from her possession.
The accused woman has been identified as Pihu Biswas who hails from Kolkata in West Bengal. Reports said that the woman had posed as the employee of a reputed college and an insurance agent on social media. Then she used her social media to establish contact with the victim.
After establishing trust, the woman had visited the house of the victim and stayed over for the night.
However, during her stay, she allegedly intoxicated the man and robbed his house and looted cash, gold and other valuables before fleeing.
