Work From Home To END in TCS
Last year in March, when COVID-19 lockdown was enforced in India, hundreds of companies shut their offices overnight and sent their employees home.
In order to protect the employees from the lethal infection and simultaneously continue the businesses, all the companies adopted the Work From Home (WFH) concept. Now, with the daily Covid infections declining and India witnessing record number of vaccinations, the companies are apparently planning to end remote work policy.
According to a national media (TOI), IT behemoth Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which employs more than 5 lakh people, is reportedly planning to end work from home and return to the office by December this year.
Reports suggest that initially the IT giant is planning to ask some of its employees to return to offices before switching to its hybrid model, under which only 25% of its staff will work from office by 2025, and the rest will be working remotely.
Speaking about the same, TCS spokesperson said that the company's first priority is to get all of its staff and their families vaccinated as soon as possible. He said that they have launched one of the biggest corporate vaccination drives in over 125 cities across India for its employees and their dependents.
The official further informed that over 90% of TCS employees and their families have already received the first Covid vaccine jab and they will complete the second dose soon.
However, the plans might change again if India witnesses a third wave this year. Until then, TCS reportedly might continue its work from home culture.
