In a bid to tackle the spread of the Coronavirus among employees, companies sent their employees home. In a few days, companies have had to adopt a pure work from home or in some cases they chose a hybrid model.
And now, as India is witnessing a significant decline in fresh Covid-19 cases along with record vaccination, companies are apparently planning to call employees back to office.
Like other companies, India's largest IT services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is also planning to have its massive workforce return to office by the end of the year or the start of 2022.
The IT giant is planning to call back 70-80% staff to the offices before the implementation of its ambitious 25/25 model. The 25/25 model envisages that 25% of the workforce will report to office by the year 2025 and the rest will work from home.
Earlier this month, TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan said to a national media (Economic Times) that the IT firm expects 70-80 per cent of people to return to office based on how the third wave pans out.
So how the IT behemoth is planning to implement its return to office plan?
On its website, the IT firm has outlined a TCS Safe Workplace initiative. The company said that TCS Safe Workplace ensures smooth workplace transition and assures safe and secure workplace as employees are preparing to return to office after months of working from home.
The IT major also said that TCS Safe Workplace assesses the readiness of employees, workplace environment and the workforce model by evaluating various factors that ensure a stable workplace for employees.
