Led by strong demand coupled with rising attrition rates, India’s largest private employer added 43,000 employees in the first half of 2021-22. This information was shared by the company during its second quarter earnings announcement.
On a net basis, TCS added 19,690 employees taking its total employee base to 528,748. Speaking on the company’s hiring growth, the chief HR officer of TCS, Milind Lakkad said that this has been a fulfilling quarter in more ways than one and the company brought on board a record number of 43,000 fresh graduates in the last six months.
The company said that it has been able to fulfill the incremental demand in newer technologies because of its ability to attract and retain talent at scale, and its continued investments in organic talent development.
The company reported an attrition rate of 11.9%, claiming it to be the lowest in the industry because of its ability to retain talent.
As per a report by national media (The Economic Times), the company ‘s campus hiring momentum will continue and it will hire 35,000 fresher going forward in the year to meet its business requirements.
