The soaring prices of hotel rooms in Puri, especially on the Grand Road, have put a dent in the plans of tourists.
The ‘Snana Jatra’ of Lord Jagannath and his siblings is on June 4. On this day, thousands of devotees throng the Grand Road. The ongoing Parikrama Project is believed to become a bottleneck.
There are several battery-operated cars running in Puri town to carry elderly and Divyang passengers to Lord Jagannath temple. The mishap occurred today when one of such cars was returning from the temple after dropping off some passengers.
The Gundicha Temple in Puri is on a repair spree after cracks were spotted on the columns of the temple by Puri Srimandir Technical Core Committee during an inspection in October 2022.
