With uncertainty looming large over relaxation of curbs in Cuttack and Khordha, chances seem bleak for these two districts going for complete unlock because of unabating Covid-19 infections.
Asked whether Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will unlock in the next phase starting August 1, CBK Mohanty, the chief of DMET on Thursday (July 29) said that the government is yet to declare anything about lifting restrictions in these two critical zones currently witnessing high infections.
As far as Odisha's scenario is concerned, Mohanty said that the state is reporting positive cases around 1600-1700 every day but situation is not as dire as mentioned by the Centre citing high caseload of Odisha. The state government would take a decision regarding unlock after reviewing the prevailing situation and virus transmission in the districts, the health official said.
