Woman Recites Hanuman Chalisa Inside AIIMS OT While Undergoing Brain Tumor Surgery
Faith in God can bring miracles.
On July 23, doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi witnessed an unusual incident. A 24-year-old woman undergoing a surgery recited devotional verses of Hanuman Chalisa inside the operation theatre.
In a video that has surfaced, the woman named Yukti Agarwal can be seen reciting all the 40 verses of Hanuman Chalisa while undergoing brain surgery. The life-saving surgery lasted for around 3 hours. During the operation, the woman remained awake and recited the entire 40 verses of the Hanuman Chalisa, while doctors were performing the complex operation.
As per doctors, the woman was given local anesthesia injections for scalp block and painkiller medicines before the surgery. During the surgery, doctors interacted with the patient and kept her awake to supervise her speech and body movements.
Such operations wherein patients are kept awake during brain surgery is known as 'awake craniotomies'. Patients are kept alert to ensure that critical areas of their brain are not damaged. As per reports, AIIMS has carried out many similar surgeries in the last 20 years. The good thing is, Yukti is currently under medical supervision at the hospital and will be discharged soon.
