A rare incident of animal cannibalism was witnessed at Jashuapur village under Balakati area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. After spotting a Cobra, workers at a construction site contacted the Snake Helpline Members. However, upon reaching the site, the Snake Helpline Members failed to locate the snake.

After a long search, they discovered a 4-ft-long cobra from the area. Just when the Snake Helpline Members lifted the cobra by its tail, the reptile vomited the carcass of another smaller cobra. The workers had actually seen this now dead, smaller snake earlier. The Snake Helpline Members rescued the cobra and released it into the wild.
