These visuals show the unspeakable apathy at Phulbani District headquarters Hospital. This video shows how a man was forced to carry the dead body of his wife all on his own from the hospital. This happened after medical personnel allegedly refused to lend a helping hand fearing Covid infection.

The images of the man carrying the dead body of his wife went viral on social media forcing authorities to take notice. As per reports, Balakrushna Kanhar of Motingia village under Phiringia Block of Phulbani district had admitted his wife to the hospital on June 29 for treatment of Anemia.

But on Thursday (July 1), his wife’s condition worsened while undergoing treatment and she passed away in the evening. Later, after completing all required formalities, Balakrushna called the Mahaprayan hearse vehicle to carry his wife’s body for last rites. However, he was allegedly refused any help.

Finding no alternative, Balakrushna was forced to carry her body from the top floor of the hospital to the vehicle. Despite these dire circumstances, no one came forward to neither help nor take care of Balakrushna’s minor son, who was also present on the premises.

The apathy of the onlookers at the hospital as they stared and witnessed the incident was also captured in the video.
