Devotees can finally have darshan of the Gods and Goddesses as all temples and religious places in Khordha district reopened today (August 9) for all. Darshan is allowed with strict adherence to Covid protocols. However, no decision on reopening of temples and religious sites in the capital city Bhubaneswar has been taken as yet. As per officials, a decision in this regard will be taken by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in due course of time.
The district authorities have issued guidelines for reopening of temples and religious places across Khordha. As per the guidelines, temples and religious places will remain open for devotees from 6 am to 6 pm every day. However, religious or spiritual congregation will not be allowed in any of the places of worship, the officials informed. According to the guidelines, devotees need to strictly follow Covid appropriate behaviour at the temple premises. Moreover, carrying prasad offerings or puja material to the temple has been strictly prohibited as per the state government’s guidelines
