India’s largest IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is going to hire over 40,000 fresh graduates from different campuses in the country this year. Speaking to the media, Milind Lakkad, the executive vice president and global head of human resources in TCS informed the same.
As per the top official, the company will be hiring more than 40,000 fresh graduates from campuses across the country during the financial year 2021-22. Besides, TCS has also planned to hire fresh graduates across campuses in the United States and Latin America.
Lakkad also said that despite several restrictions during the pandemic, the company’s business and hiring process were not affected and a total of 3.60 lakh freshers had appeared for an entrance test virtually during this period. This is not the first time when the largest software exporter, has planned such huge recruitment drive.
Last financial year, the IT firm hired 40,000 graduates from campuses in India. TCS, the largest employer in the private sector in India, reportedly hired 20,409 associates during the first quarter of financial year 2021-22, taking the total employee headcount to 509,058. As per media reports, the company has planned to strengthen its talent pool expecting better business and in order to meet the growing demand for its services from customers globally.
