Smuggling Of Country-Made Liquor During Lockdown Foiled By Villagers In Odisha

While the whole of Odisha is under a lockdown, a case of country liquor smuggling came to fore in Balangir district of the state.When the State is under lockdown, these pictures show how country-made liquor is being smuggled. The smuggling was intercepted by locals in Mahulbahali village under Turekela Police Station in Bolangir district. This liquor packed in polythene bags and stuffed into jute packets were being smuggled on a motorcycle. As per reports, the liquor was being siphoned off from a nearby government distillery. While country-liquor is sold in pouches by government distilleries, it is alleged that miscreants are siphoning off loose liquor to sell it illegally.
