Former India opener Shiv Sunder Das appointed batting coach of Indian Women's Cricket Team. Shiv Sunder Das, one of the most successful cricketers from Odisha, has been involved with the India's women's cricket for some time. As per reports, Das’ name was recommended by National Cricket Academy (NCA) Director Rahul Dravid. 43-year-old Shiv Sunder Das will now tour England with the team for 1 Test, 3 ODIs and 3 Twenty20s. Das was associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. He has also been a regular in women's cricket set up as the head coach of the India A and Emerging Women's sides. In the years 2019 and 2020, he toured Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Australia. Current team members Priya Punia, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma had played under him in these tours.
