Hours after a body was found partially-buried in the sands near Kuakhai river bank in Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar, city DCP Umashankar Das and a scientific team along with senior police officials reached the spot. The body of the man, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was unearthed in presence of the magistrate.
According to the DCP, a 3D scanning of the body and crime scene has been done, while inquest and post-mortem will be conducted and a report has been sought for further investigation. Late in the evening on Wednesday, some locals spotted the partially-buried body on Balijatra ground in Kuakhai river bank near Barimunda Chhak.
According to reports, one hand and a leg of the body was partially visible over the surface of the sand. After spotting the body, the locals contacted the police. Further investigation in this case is underway.
