Just like last year, Ratha Yatra will be conducted only in Puri and that too without the participation of devotees this year. In a major announcement on Thursday, Odisha Development Commissioner, Pradeep Jena informed that Ratha Yatra will be conducted abiding by the Supreme Court guidelines of 2020. Similar restrictions will be imposed in Puri town, such as curfew and movement of buses and trains from outside will be restricted. According to the Development Commissioner, only temple servitors who have either been fully vaccinated or have RT-PCR negative report from 48 hours prior to the event will be allowed to carry out the Ratha Yatra rituals.
