Rath Yatra 2021: Gold Ornaments Of Lord Jagannath Needs Repair, Says SJTA

Ahead of the chariot festival of Holy Trinity, gold ornaments of Mahaprabhu Jagannath and His elder brother Lord Balabhadra, will be repaired. In a letter to a jeweller, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has asked to undertake repair work of the precious gold ornaments of the Lords before the Rath Yatra. 

During 'Suna Besha', the deities are adorned with various gold ornaments, which need to be repaired ahead of the ritualistic celebrations. As per reports, at least four 'Kundalas' and 'Sribhujas' of Lord Jagannath and Lord Balabhadra need repair by skilled jewellers.

Sources said that four experienced jewellers will start the repair work from the next 'Dashami' or 'Ekadashi Tithi' and the ornaments will be fully ready before the 'Suna Besha' or the 'Rajarajeshwara Besha' of the Trinity.
