As heavy rainfall batters Odisha, waterlogging inside Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital in Cuttack left many patients in lurch on Monday (September 13).

The situation was unbearable with rain water entering the Radiation Oncology Department, bringing misery for patients. Following the waterlogging, medical equipment could not function due to which the patients were denied critical treatment.

Laboratory testing and radiation therapy at the hospital were severely affected. People across the state come to this govt-run hospital for cancer treatment. However, the state of affairs at the hospital following incessant rain has raised serious concerns.

Despite the state govt spending massive amount on Health Infrastructure, a rainy spell has brought health care services at premier cancer institute to a grinding halt.
