The long wait of Jagannath devotees is finally going to end as the doors of Shree Jagannath temple in Puri will open for devotees from August 16. On Wednesday, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) informed that Puri Srimandir will open from August 16 with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
According to SJTA guidelines, Puri residents will be allowed for darshan from August 16 to 20. Darshan of Lord Jagannath and His siblings will be open for general public from August 23.
The SJTA informed that entry of devotees into the temple will not be allowed for two days - August 21 and 22 due to weekend shutdown in Puri.
The temple administration informed that a detailed SOP in this regard will be issued soon.
As per guidelines, people need to carry their double dose vaccination certificate or negative RT-PCR test report for getting an access into the temple premises.
As per reports, the darshan timing in the temple has been fixed from 7 am to 8 pm five days every week except Saturdays and Sundays.
