Cyclone Yaas is likely to make landfall a few kilometres north of Dhamra region on May 26 morning. Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena on Tuesday alerted the administrative officials of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsingpur for the impending landfall of Cyclone Yaas anywhere between Bhitarkanika and Balasore. Pradeep Jena requested the officials to be prepared and continue full scale evacuation before the landfall. Pradeep Jena also requested respective authorities to keep open all pucca public buildings other than the identified shelters for public to take shelter anytime. Earlier in the day, Pradeep Jena in a press meet shared details about the cyclone preparedness.
