Classroom teaching in Technical Institutions in Odisha will resume from August 9th. As per the directive physical classes will resume in Technical Universities, Engineering and Professional Colleges/ Polytechnics & Diploma Institutions and ITIs.
These Physical classes will resume for final year students of PG, UG, Diploma and ITI programmes. According to a letter from the Skill Development & Technical Education Department Joint Secretary, the State government has taken the decision amid improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the State.
As per the directive, the institutions have been asked to re-open their respective institutions for the final year students with effect from August 9th as per the standard operating procedure.
The letter mentioned that physical classroom teaching for final year students shall commence after all precautionary measures such as complete sanitization and disinfection of classrooms, laboratories, hostels etc. are taken as per the COVID guidelines.
Earlier the State government allowed reopening of schools for class 10 and 12 students from July 26th. Similarly, as far as colleges are concerned, the Higher Education minister had said that discussions on reopening of colleges are underway and colleges in the State will reopen soon.
