While lack of awareness, fear and stigma over COVID19 continue to surface frequently, a young boy from Bhubaneswar has found a unique way of spreading awareness regarding Covid-appropriate behaviour.This is Dipty Ranjan Rout; a Class 12th student, who writes songs in Odia about various social issues and raps about them!
This 17 year-old boy goes by the stage name DRR Rapper and posts his original songs on YouTube. He says he wants to touch the lives of people and create an impact in the society through his music. Dipty’s latest project is a rap about the importance of following Covid appropriate behaviour and how people must not let their guard down.
Let us hear how Dipty got into rapping and his journey so far. Dipty says that he writes his songs and performs them as well. He then shoots a video of himself singing and later posts them on Youtube to reach as many people as possible. Dipty’s parents are proud of his achievements and say that they try to encourage him to strike a balance between his education and his passion.
Till date, Dipty has written songs about many issues plaguing our society. In addition to that, he has also written about Odisha’s culture, art, history and tradition. Even though, Dipty doesn’t plan on pursuing music as his full-time career, he intends on continuing it as his passion to motivate people.
