A woman was allegedly duped of Rs 48,000 by a fraudster under the pretext of providing her medicine for treatment of her husband suffering from Black Fungus infection. The victim Sujata Bhuyan's husband Ajay Bhuyan is undergoing treatment at the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar. The patient from Jagatsinghpur was reportedly prescribed an injection which was unavailable at the hospital. Later a nurse reportedly forwarded a website link to Sujata, assuring her that she would find the injection through the resource provided. Due to the urgency of the situation, Sujata on Friday (July 2) used the link and contacted a seller who reassured her of providing the injection. However, after the monetary transaction was carried out by Sujata, the seller reportedly switched off his phone and did not provide her the injection. A complaint has been filed in this regard.
