The Bhubaneswar regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for as many as 20 districts. In the latest weather forecast, a yellow warning has been issued for 20 districts over expected thunderstorm with lightning during the next 24 hours.
These districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal and Boudh. The next day forecast for the capital city Bhubaneswar suggests partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain & thundershower.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over several districts of Odisha over the next couple of days. On the other hand, the MeT Centre informed that the South West monsoon over the state has been subdued.
