Odisha Weather Update: Low Pressure To Move Across State, Monsoon Advances

The low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal is likely to become more marked in the next 2-3 days. As per the regional centre of the India Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar the system is likely to move west-northwestwards across Odisha, Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh.

Meanwhile, southwest monsoon continues to advance into state. Monsoon has covered the districts Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Moreover, the monsoon has also advanced into the remaining parts of the Puri, most parts of Nayagarh and Khurda and some parts of Cutack, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj districts.

As per the forecast till tomorrow morning 8:30, light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

However, orange warning has been issued for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kendrapara on account of heavy to very heavy rainfall over some places.

Yellow warning has been issued for Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Koraput and Nawarangpur districts over expected heavy rainfall at one or two places.
