The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a 'Yellow Warning' to 14 districts of Odisha for the next 24 hours. In the forecast, the MeT Centre informed that under the influence of cyclonic circulation over North & adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal (BoB), a low pressure area has formed over Northwest & adjoining West Central BoB off South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts.
As per the rainfall forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at most of the places over the districts of Odisha. Meanwhile, a 'Yellow Warning' for rainfall was sounded over 14 districts of the state for the next 24 hours. The districts which might experience heavy to very heavy rainfall include - Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kalahandi. While, the districts that might experience heavy rainfall include - Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Puri, Ganjam, Khordha, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
During the next 48 hours, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining West-Central Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast. Meanwhile, the capital city of the state is likely to experience a generally overcast sky with a few spells of rain or thundershower. In the next 24 hours, Bhubaneswar might witness maximum 31 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature 25 degrees Celsius.
