Several districts of Odisha are set to receive heavy rainfall and thundershowers in the next few days. As per the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rainfall forecast is due to a low pressure area formed over east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar along with persisting associated cyclonic circulation extending up to mid-tropospheric levels.
A yellow warning has been issued till morning of June 17th. As per prediction, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj till tomorrow morning.
In the subsequent 24 hours, i.e. from June 17 till June 18 morning, a yellow warning has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Angul. All these places are expected to receive heavy showers during the period.
The forecast for June 18 till 19 also suggests heavy downpour at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Bargarh.
