Odisha On Alert Amid Extremely Heavy Rainfall Forecast By IMD

With the predictions of a low pressure & advancement of Southwest Monsoon during the next 2-3 days, Odisha is likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall between June 10th and 14th.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy and isolated extremely heavy rain fall is likely in several districts of Odisha during this period. 

On account of the same, the special relief commissioner directed all district collectors and municipal corporation commissioners to remain alert and prepared. In the letter to the concerned officials, the SRC said that during such intense and continued rainfall, flash flood and flood-like situation may occur in different rivers. The officials have been asked to take precautionary measures prevent damage to life and property.  

The Met office has issued orange warning for several districts of Odisha from June 10th till June 14th morning.
