The Higher Education Department of Odisha has released important guidelines for the conduct of Undergraduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) final year, final semester examinations in colleges and universities across the state. As per the notification, for the 2020-21 academic session, the online examinations for final year or final semester UG, PG students will be held in July or August.
The results of the same will be published in the month of August/September. All the back-paper exams will be held in online mode by the end of July or August. This is applicable for students giving back papers as well as already passed out students. However, the exact dates of examinations will be decided by the concerned universities and autonomous colleges.
The notification further stated that students can appear for the exams from their home or any other place suitable for them. They can also appear for the said exam in online mode from any nearby Degree College. The process or modalities of online examination will be intimated to the students by the concerned universities or autonomous colleges.
Interactive doubt-clearing classes will be conducted through online mode in the second half of July, 2021. Meanwhile, in order to ensure smooth conduct of the online examinations, university and college teachers shall mentor a group of students.
These mentor-teachers shall constantly talk to their mentee-students through telephone or in any other mode and prepare the students for online examination. The list of mentor teachers would be uploaded in the university or college website by June 30. As per the notification, the decision regarding conduct of exams for all the students of other semesters shall be decided in the later phase.
