Odisha Has Over 90% Cases Of Delta Variant, Says ILS Director Ajay Parida

The delta variant is causing havoc in parts of the globe, including in India where the strain is dominant across states. Speaking on the infections with Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus in the second wave, ILS (Institute of Life Sciences) Director Ajay Parida said that in India the total infections with Delta variant stands at around 96% while in Odisha it is 92%-93%.

In the recent study of ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) on breakthrough COVID-19 infections, Ajay Parida said that at least 85% of the patients infected after being administered Covid-19 vaccine do not get hospitalised. However, the health official said that around 1-2 per cent people who visit the hospital have critical symptoms.
