In a massive liquor haul, the Excise department seized as much as 9 thousand Litres of country liquor at Salia Sahi area of Bhubaneswar on Friday (Aug 20). The liquor allegedly was being illegally produced and sold in the market.
Sources said that after receiving a tip off, the excise department officials conducted a raid at the spot. There, the officials arrested 8 persons while they were allegedly making country liquor. As per sources, out of the 8 arrested, 6 are women.
Meanwhile, the Excise officials seized 8000 Litres of fermented mahua, also locally known as 'pocha' and 1000 Litres of country liquor from the spot. The arrested will be later forwarded to the court.
