Odisha: COVID 3rd Wave May Arrive Earlier Than Predicted - Says Top Health Official
As many as 16,960 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Odisha post vaccination. Of these, 9154 persons were infected after the first dose while 7806 persons tested positive after second dose vaccination. As per a study, the infection rate among vaccinated population is only 0.13 percent. Odisha Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra informed this on Wednesday (July 8). Talking about the possible third wave in the state, Mohapatra said that if people continue to flout Covid-19 appropriate guidelines, then the third wave might arrive earlier than predicted. The senior health official further asked people not to venture out of their homes unless it is that necessary and that they should avoid congregation to prevent surge in Covid cases in Odisha.
