Odisha government on Wednesday (June 24) announced its decision to officially cancel the global e-tender floated to procure Covid-19 vaccines from manufacturers across the world. This information was provided by the Odisha State Medical Corporation.
This development comes two days after the Central government rolled out its free vaccination policy to cover all citizens above the age of 18 years. As per official sources, the Central government will be providing vaccines to the states, based on rate of consumption and wastage. On the first day of the country’s expedited Covid-19 inoculation drive on June 21, as many as 81 Lakh doses were administered to people in India. In Odisha, as many as 3.32 Lakh people were administered the Covid-19 vaccines in a single day.
Meanwhile, as per official reports, Odisha has administered vaccines to over 1 Crore people so far.
