With demands growing, the state government has finally decided to vaccinate the staff of all medicine shops in Odisha on a priority basis.
The additional chief secretary of the health department has written to all Collectors, Municipal Commissioners and CDMOs to take necessary steps as per availability of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The staff and employees working in medicine shops are providing uninterrupted services to the general public in this pandemic and also during lockdown and shutdown in the State.
The senior official stated in the letter that in view of the nature of their work, steps should be taken to vaccinate the staff and employees on priority subject to availability of vaccines.
The employees aged 45 years and above shall be vaccinated with the government of India supply vaccine and employees aged 18 to 44 years shall be vaccinated with State procured vaccines.
