There is no chance of flood in Odisha currently, since water levels of various rivers in the state have gone below the danger mark. This information was given by Chief Engineer Of Water Resources Department, Dhiren Samal on Saturday (Sept 18).
Dhiren stated that currently, the water level is unlikely to rise further near Mundali area while floodwaters have started receding in Brahmani and Subarnarekha rivers.
Meanwhile, the Chief Engineer also informed that there is no danger from Baitarani River as well. This comes after incessant rainfall had battered the state following a deep depression over the bay of Bengal (BoB) causing the water levels to rise in several rivers of the state.
In addition to water-logging, the state had also experienced flood-like situation during the past week.
