New Railway Minister, New Rule For Staff: 17-Hr Duty With Immediate Effect
Soon after Railways got its new Minister, the ministry introduced new work timings for its employees. After Rajya Sabha member from Odisha, Ashwini Vaishnaw assumed office as Union Minister for Railways; he directed that all the offices & staff of minister's office will work in two shifts. As per the directive, while the first shfit will begin from 7AM till 4PM the second shift will start from 3PM and continue till 12 AM. In total the ministry will function for 17 hours. This information was shared by the Additional Directorate General of Public Relations of the Ministry of Railways. On Thursday (July 8), Ashwini Vaishnaw took charge as the Union Minister for Railways, Communication, Electronics & Information Technology. After taking charge Vaishnaw said that Railways, Communication and Technology touch the lives of all Indians and he will work to fulfill the Prime Minister’s vision.
