Amid the growing outcry over schedule of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 UG, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has urged Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to postpone and reschedule the exams.
On behalf of the NEET UG aspirants, Neeraj Kundan, president of NSUI wrote to the Education Minister and stated that the government should reschedule the entrance exam to be held on September 12 in offline mode, citing that it is clashing with many other entrance exams.
The current examination date of NEET UG is 12th September. Kundan wrote in the letter that the exam requires rigorous preparation and objective examination tests many aspects of learning. Hence, a student needs to be in top form to perform well in such kind of examination.
The NSUI President also highlighted various other exams scheduled for the same day and week and informed “the problem here is that there are many other exams scheduled around 12th September, which are subjective in nature, which may break the concentration of a student.
" Kundan has therefore requested the Education Minister to reschedule the examination keeping in mind the mentioned exams. Further, he has urged exam body to keep a window of 7-14 days so that students can focus well on the examination.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the NEET exam had however clarified recently that NEET 2021 entrance exam will not be postponed. The NTA's announcement thus led several students to take to Twitter demanding postponement of the exam.
