In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife before committing suicide by hanging himself at his house in Bedhachhelu village under Purushottampur Police Limits of Ganjam district. According to Police sources, late night on Wednesday, Prashant Muduli and his wife Jhili got into a heated argument.
However, the couple’s feud took an ugly turn when Prashant in a fit of rage smashed her head with a grinding stone. Later, Prashant allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house. This morning, the bodies were discovered by the neighbours who immediately informed Purushottampur Police. The police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter. The bodies have been sent for post mortem.
Additionally, the inputs by a scientific team are awaited in order to ascertain the exact reason behind the crime. Sources said that the couple often fought over Prashant’s drinking habits. Even though the reason of crime is still unclear, it is being suspected that this was a fallout of a long prevailing family dispute between the duo. The deceased couple is survived by an 18-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter. Neighbours said that the incident took place when no family members were present in the house.
