A Low Pressure area is likely to form over North-West Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around 28th July, 2021. The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar predicted the formation of the Low Pressure in its weather update on Monday. The Low Pressure Area is likely to form under the influence of a cyclonic circulation that currently lies over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood.
As per predictions, the surface wind speed is very likely to reach 40-50 kmph under the influence of this Low Pressure Area over North-West Bay of Bengal from 28th to 30th July. On account of the same, fishermen on Odisha coast have been advised not to venture into North Bay of Bengal during this time. Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha and at a few places over the districts of South Odisha in the next 24 hours.
As per the Met Centre, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Khurda, Puri, Boudh and Nayagarh.
