After fighting a long battle with Covid-19, Odisha Vigilance Director and Senior IPS Officer, Debasis Panigrahi succumbed to the disease on Friday (June 18). He passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata.
As per reports, Panigrahi was detected with Covid in the first week of June and was initially under home isolation. However, after his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Cuttack’s Ashwini Hospital, where he was put on ventilator support. Later on June 8, he was shifted to Kolkata after his condition worsened further.
He was put on ECMO support after he developed pneumonia. Additionally, he was also suffering from other co-morbidities.
