Locals spotted a dolphin near the coast of Chandipur beach in Balasore on Wednesday.
It was surprising for the locals to encounter a dolphin as it prefers staying deep inside the sea. However, the locals soon noticed a wound injury near the head of the dolphin. The locals assumed that the dolphin may have been hit by a fishing boat or trawlers and floated towards the coast after losing its course. After encountering the dolphin at the coast local kids could be seen playing with it. The locals even tried to assist the dolphin.
After treating its wound, they tried to release the dolphin back into the sea. As the dolphin didn’t swim back into the sea, the locals even tried to release it deep into the sea. However, despite all efforts, the dolphin passed away on Wednesday. The locals spotted the carcass of the dolphin that washed off near the coast and informed the forest department regarding the same. As per reports, the forest department reached the spot and recovered the carcass of the dolphin. The eight feet dolphin carcass was later disposed by the forest department officials.
