Sony Television is likely to bring down the curtains on yet another exciting season of the Indian Idol. Nevertheless, the singing reality show has continued to maintain its popularity on television. The season 12 of the Indian Idol is now heading for its grand finale with some extremely talented bunch of singers.
A few controversies made sure that the popular show doesn't remain out of the spotlight anytime. From contestants facing backlash for ruining iconic songs to debate over doctored judgments, the journey this season hasn't been an easy one.
However, moving over all the controversies, fans are now eagerly waiting for the grand finale episode. With barely a few weeks left, speculations are rife over the telecast of the finale episode of the music reality show. As few media reports claimed that the 12th season of Indian Idol is most likely to end in August this year and the final episode will be aired on Independence Day, i.e., August 15.
Though there is no official confirmation as yet, quoting sources close to the sets of Indian Idol, india.com reported that all such reports claiming that the grand finale will be on August 15 are false. The source has clarified that the date has not been decided yet. Meanwhile, the makers of the show have unveiled the winner’s trophy.
In the latest promo, melody queen and singing maestro Asha Bhonsle can be seen unveiling the winner’s trophy. The evergreen and veteran singer will grace the show in the upcoming weekend episode.
The race to win the golden trophy is currently between Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Shanmukhapriya, Nihal Tauro, Mohammad Danish, Ashish Kulkarni and Sayli Kamble. At present, Himesh Reshammiya, Anu Malik and Sonu Kakkar are judging the singing reality show while actor-singer Aditya Narayan is the host.
