Well known playback singer, Sunidhi Chauhan made some shocking revelations about popular singing reality show Indian Idol. In a recent interview, Sunidhi Chauhan revealed that she quit the show as a judge as she was asked to praise all contestants irrespective of their performance.
Sunidhi Chauhan was on the panel of judges in the fifth and sixth seasons of the reality show. According to the singer, she couldn’t do what the makers of the show asked her to do, due to which she chose to part ways. Sunidhi also alleged that the approach of the show was to seek attention and to hold on to the audience.
Revealing the truth behind the reality show’s format, Sunidhi also said that the songs telecast on the show were even doctored sometimes. According to the singer, when songs or recordings of certain singers experienced glitches, they were corrected before the episode was telecast.
Earlier, Amit Kumar, son of the legendary singer Kishore Kumar also made similar allegations against the singing reality show. Amit Kumar was part of the panel of judges on a special episode on Indian Idol that paid homage to his father, Kishore Kumar. Amit had also alleged that he was asked to praise the contestants. Amit Kumar in an interview had said that he simply did what he was asked.
